It casts a pretty shadow as claimed. I brought a small size but if u want a bigger refraction, i suggest medium size. It gets very hot to touch ,but that's to be expected. Only disappointment is that tip of the lid tat was made with plastic to be heat resistant, melted away. Overall a good purchase ??
